1.46 diagram
(a)(i)
The diagram shows part of the velocity–time graph for a particle, moving at vv m s1^{-1} in a straight line, tt s after passing through a fixed point. The particle travels at UU m s1^{-1} for 2020 s and then decelerates uniformly for 1010 s to a velocity of U2\dfrac{U}{2} m s1^{-1}. In this 3030 s interval, the particle travels 165165 m. Find the value of UU.

(b)(i)
A particle PP travels in a straight line such that, tt s after passing through a fixed point OO, its velocity, vv m s1^{-1}, is given by v=(et284)3v = \left(\mathrm{e}^{\frac{t^{2}}{8}} - 4\right)^{3}. Find the speed of PP at OO.

(b)(ii)
Find the value of tt for which PP is instantaneously at rest.
[2]
(b)(iii)
