In this question time is measured in seconds.
(a)
A particle moves in a straight line with constant velocity 6ms16\,\mathrm{ms}^{-1}. At t=0t = 0 it passes fixed point AA. At t=5t = 5 it suddenly changes direction and moves with a different constant velocity along the same line, returning to AA at t=15t = 15. Sketch the velocity–time graph for the motion.

(b)
Another particle moves in a straight line with constant acceleration. At t=0t = 0 it passes fixed point BB with velocity 8ms1-8\,\mathrm{ms}^{-1}. It passes BB again at t=20t = 20. Sketch the velocity–time graph.
