Given that y=2x24x7y = 2x^{2} - 4x - 7, write yy in the form a(xb)2+ca(x - b)^{2} + c, where aa, bb and cc are constants.

Hence write down the minimum value of yy and the value of xx at which it occurs.

Using your answer to part (i), solve the equation 2p4p7=02p - 4\sqrt{p} - 7 = 0, giving your answer correct to 22 decimal places.
