(a) Use algebra to find the $\displaystyle x$ coordinates of the points where the curve with equation $\displaystyle y = 3x^2 + 9x - 17$ intersects the line with equation $\displaystyle y = 3 - 2x$

(b) Hence, or otherwise, find the set of values of $\displaystyle x$ for which $\displaystyle 3 - 2x \leq 3x^2 + 9x - 17$
